Auto rear end on a 5 speed trans swap... do i need to worry?

hey all,

In the next week or two im getting ready to sawp out my auto trans to a manual. I have everything i need except the rear end. am i going to be on with the auto one for a while till i get teh proper rear end?

The auto & manual LSD are the same for given years for turbo cars...earlier pre '89 cars had 3.91 ratios, '89 plus had 3.70 ratios. If you use the LSD that came with your car, your speedo should be accurate.

My swapped '91 runs at higher RPM at highway speeds, and I've lost 2 miles per gallon on the freeway. I do notice a differance....slight.

^^^ Tis true...the years need to match. Or, get the correct gear and change it out.

ive not yey looked to see if they are the same but is that peice goign to be interchangeable from the auto to the manual... i know its n ez enough thing to change

i have a manual swapped car 89+ ,but i didnt do the swap so i dunno the diff. i believe the top end speed could be diff but thats odd bc these other guys just said that they both have 3.70. ill have to see when i get my other supra going.

From installing a unit that was shorter.
