Well it looks like pending dimensions, I will be going T-04Z now

What is the difference in diameter between a 35R, Garrett T-04Z and HKS T-04Z?

Casey, not sure when I am in Melbourne next, AFAIK my next work trip is to Brisbane.

Also found out that more than likely my secondment to this job will be getting made permanent, which means more trips etc...

Dan: Same same diameter as they share a compressor cover, 04z is a bit longer though.

I see. Is the HKS one the same diameter too?

I'll know by the end of the week if this can happen. How much extra length are we talking?

The main hurdle is that I cant have the comp cover sitting any higher than it currently does, so not sure what the CHRA centreline would be with the T-04Z hot size compared to the 35R. The turbine gasket face on my manifold is a little off vertical rather than horizontal

Yep they are test fitted currently (see my thread), Bill from ATS is coming over tomorrow night to measure up the braided lines and get them made up, then the turbo's, manifolds, and heat shields are getting sent off to be heat coated. After that it all gets fitted up properly :)

All this talk about cars is makin me itchy!!:icon_evil

.81 at the moment but it's too small on a 3.0L Dan.

Ah ok, you find it comes on too early or just out of puff up top?

The guys were talking about a 1.12 (or was it 1.15 I forget) anyway he hasn't really had a chance to think about it properly yet.

Would be good to feed back your observations of the .81 as I am going there tomorrow to see my vacated engine bay.

the HKS version is approx 3400, I'm not feeling that lol

I come from a land down under
.96 or larger at least Dan.

Mine chokes at 300rwkw pretty badly, if I ran better fuel I could get more out of it up high but it's not happy running like that.

I'm seeing 20psi @ 3600 which is way low for an 04z.

The genuine HKS price is a joke I wouldn't pay it.

I also passed on the ported comp cover, it surges a little at light or trailing throttle when the BoV's aren't opening but nothing too bad.

Cheers for the info. I'm looking at making 450+rwkw so I think maybe even the next step up from .96may be the go for me. I think I'll be keeping the comp cover from my 35R. Seeing my mechanic tonight and I'll have a chat to him then, as well as Rob taking a few more pics of where things are at.
