Are you on fire?

I am worried for you and your pet Koalas and kangaroos.

What about the rest of you Aussies? Anyone close to a fire or getting smoked out?

Good to know!

Yea I read somewhere that a few guys were getting charged with arson/murder or something along those lines. Something like 170 ppl were killed from the fires?

I come from a land down under
Last I heard was 181 but it's going to jump quite a bit as they get into the more secluded homes that were burnt... :(

Now the vermin are coming out from under their rocks and looting/stealing donations/setting fires... :nono:

The death tool keeps rising, not sure why anyone would be remotely close if they new it was coming. This kind of makes the wiled fires in CA look like a camp fire.

Hope you all stay safe!

Jeremy: I'm actually angry at the people that stayed....

For days before they had forecast the hotted day in our history and the greatest fire danger ever.....

The video I've seen of the burnt towns is unlike anything I've ever seen before I mean the houses are just gone nothing left!

There are unburnt treetops due to the 60Mph winds and 15 years of fuel and no backburning.

Sounds like it's going to be the "Hurricane Katrina" of Australia.. "Something bad is coming, you might want to leave your homes,"..."Nah we'll be alright."

The 170 figure I read was earlier this morning, im sure it's just going to keep growing.

So im guessing they don't have it somewhat controlled yet?

They almost did but it jumped a few of the firebreaks, a lot will depend on the weather, the last few days have been cool so they made good progress but it's turning hot again from today..

There were 2 fronts that almost met up to make a "superfire" NFI how big it would have been but it's still a danger.

A lot of the area it's burning in is mountains with 0 access and a greater long term threat is to our water supply as the dams are barely 30% capacity and in the same area.

Yeah I do not blame you! I was reading in the paper about it, its scary to think how fast that fire is moving or was moving.

I hope the cool weather lets them get a leg up on it and contain it.

Do they know if it was a man made fire or not yet? I know they arrested some people that had started one fire.

Keep safe!

Jeremy
