I just contacted Aeromotive in regaurds to my AFPR being fried in the fire. The fire destroyed the fabric around the diaphram. As of a couple days ago, they now offer a rebuild kit which includes a new diaphram. Prior to a couple days ago you had to send the unit back to aeromotive and wait :aigo:

Part numbers:

13-001 - For A-1000/A-1000-6 models

*I'm not aware of other part numbers yet, post them if you come across them

*I have yet to find a retailer however was told to contact Jegs or Summit racing which i will be doing later. Ill keep people updated with availability and price.

EDIT:

JEGS: 16.99+shipping (flat rate 9.99) <----as of now you must call a tech rep since its not in the inventory yet

:biglaugh: hmmm so if the dimensions line up you could order the knock off ebay regulator and rebuild it with areomotive parts

before anyone gets any ideas i was just kinda making a joke although if i had a knock off regulator i would certainly look into this

but i would never personally run a regulator i was not 100% confident in

Great info!

Yes, i'm very glad i called, and even more happy to find I don't have to send mine out and wait :icon_bigg. If you come across any additional info, let me know and ill add it to the first post. When I talked with the JEGS rep, after he called Aeromotive to confirm my inquiry, he mentioned the new products hadn't even been boxed yet for suppliers its so new

More than likely they ALL come off the same line in China ;)

IIRC, the diaphram is made cheaper with lower quality materials in the knock off. There was a thread with a side by side comparison.

Edit, found it.

If the rebuild kit from Aeromotive fits the XSpower unit, there should be no excuse for anyone running a stock regulator.

man I swear, here everyone is looking for the ultra cheap and I am running around with a Weldon FPR under the hood. Price? Well look around, probably the price of two Aeromotice AFPR give or take.

BTW another "giveaway" is the anodization. The Aeromotive looks like a blood red. The XS power looks pinkinsh. Almost like they did not have enough current to make a good porous surface.

Not bad, only 320 a unit, and on sale at titan for 224.
I guess it is all about what makes you happy in the end. If a cheaper part does the same thing and is of the same or better quality (holset HX35 vs a 60-1 or a t61) then I will run it. My whole car is low budget, but I try to keep the same quality throughout.

from what i understand the aeromotive design was stolen from some other company and is actually quite out dated.

anyone have any more info?
