If you want something that is simple, looks good, is decently priced and will last, buy some Dickies. I have a couple of pairs of Jnco jeans, and some of them have taken some abuse, but they are 3-4x the price of Dickies and none have lasted as long.
As for the whole "Abercrombie" thing.. I've never owned any of their clothes. I really think that the more expensive brand names mean nothing. Usually you are paying for an item which has a brand name that is known to be expensive. This somehow makes you look like you are a more important person, or that you have money. The illusion of wealth.
I'm not going to pay $30 for a black T-shirt that bears a Tommy, Guess, Gap or any other logo when I can pay $10 for a 3-pack of Fruit of the Loom or Haynes T-Shirts that will look better [I HATE logos!] and will last longer. Also with the cheaper ones, if you mess them up any, you will have no problem throwing a shirt away.
Here's how I see things:
Unless it's for dressing up nice, paying more than $30 for a pair of pants or a shirt is out of the question. Less than $20 is more like it.
Paying more than $30 for shoes unless they are for dressing up, running or some other special purpose [buying basketball shoes doesn't count as special purpose if you wear them for looks instead of for playing basketball], is crazy.
I understand that you like the cute or smart-ass saying on your t-shirt, but you paid HOW MUCH for it at Hot Topic or Gadzooks? More than $20 for a T-shirt is insanity. I'll sell you the COOLEST shirt for $30, and I have a bridge for sale if you are interested, too.
I understand that some people have money, and they want to show it off, but frittering your money away on something so frivolous is grounds for public beating.
