After months of people at our dealership talking about the super duper challengers coming, we got 3 of them.

Now before these were released i thought they was WAY over hyped.

I still think so a little.

I got to do the new car prep to one.The car is definitely a WHOLE lot of car, but i have already driven a couple srt8 chargers, and they are essentially the same car.The challenger is just a lighter 2 door, shorter wheel based platform. The interior is also better. In the end, it doesn't feel like anything new.

However:

the 6.1 hemi has more torque at idle than two 7m's, or ten 1j's put together revving at 4 grand.

the torque is neck snapping, i cant imagine what this thing would do with no traction control and slicks.

The Charger looks and feels cheep inside and out. To me the Challenger is what the Charger should have been. It looks like a late 60s car with a big V8 that has more torque than most can handle. I want one.

A guy had an orange one up at the weekend car show. It looked great especially since he already slapped a wood handled pistol grip shifter in it. BUT it needed something done to the exhaust it wasnt quite what i expected out of that beast. Ill take that black one anyday tho.

I had posted some pics of one in my build thread that I took a week or so back. It was parked at the local dealership (yeah little ol Corvallis had one) Pearl Orange and it was preeeeeetty! It has its detractors, but I would own one...for a year anyway, then trade it in on a new Camaro :naughty:.

haha i figured I'd have some negative responses.

Don't get me wrong, i like the car, but it could have been much better. The interior on the srt is perfect, other than the seat belt guides that are gonna break quicker than the ones on your mkiii. that's cheap!

Exterior wise the fake carbon fiber on the hood absolutely kills it for me, and the tails should been LED's.for 41k i want soemthing better damnit!

There's something about cruising the streets in a highly modified 20+ year old Japanese car, and absolutely raping the newer domestics/imports that I just couldn't replace with a newer car... ;)
