It's Not Important Bro
I am looking for an EBC that meets the following criteria:

#1 - It is a decent EBC (running an upgraded CT-26)
#2 - Will fit in the ash tray slot after delete

I plan on doing an ash tray delete and putting the EBC there. I want to keep my interior as clean as possible. I have a 1991 7MGTE in case there were any other differences in the dash between years.

Based in the criteria, the EBC will have to be fairly small. If anyone has any good ideas on how to frame-in the EBS to finish-out the installation that would be great. I had just planned on logging on to JC Whitney and finding a small peice of dash blank that matches and getting to work with my dremel motor.

If anyone has already done it, pics and helpful tips would be cool.

Thanks

I have the Greddy Profec B SII and it is small enough to fit in the "nut warmer" vent under the steering column. Of course that is after removing the rotating vent insert.
It should be small enough to fit in the ashtray area, and mounting it shouldn't be too much of a problem. My only concern would be whether or not it fits length wise, with the vacuum line attached.

IF I was trying to do something like this, I would likely try something along these lines...
Simply remove the ash tray. With the tray guide still in place, trim the dash blank to fit the hole so it mounts flush. Set it aside, and remove the guide.
Get some sort of metal bracketing, and bend it in a way that it forms a cradle for the ebc. Make it so that the ebc is able to slide in and out. Then I'd mount it to the bottom of the tray guide. Replace the guide in the car. Place the ebc into the cradle that is mounted in the guide in the ashtray slot. Now simply find a way to mount the dash blanc to the ebc. If you do that, then you can simply pry the blanck out whenever you have to remove the dash console.

No gaurantees that will work or not, but that is, in theory, how I would attempt what you want to do.

Never done a EBC in that spot but I have done a TT. Used some thin wood and speaker cloth.

Thereis really no need in the delete though. You can fit a profec E01 in the ash tray with miner work. Still looks stock and you get a data logger a wideband display, the ability to interface with the emanage and more.

If your not looking to go the emanage route though. It could just turn out to be a high dollar EBC.

ISNMS - That's the clean look I am looking for. Great fitment man.

A couple of questions for you.

Is that a Greddy profec B EBC?
What kind of TT is that?

How did you mount the units?
What is that material you framed them in with?

^ Thanks.
Both are HKS units.
They fit in, stacked, snug enough to sit there.
The frame is some rubberized foam type stuff, about a half inch thick, cut to shape and wedged in the sides.
All can be picked out and replaced very easily.
