ARP head studs

Is it actually possible to use them??? As of right now i have the studs in car with the head but i my 12 point 14mm deep well is to thick to fit. does anyone have a brand that fits??? id go look at buying some but nothing is open and i was hoping to gather some info. these studs are becoming more of a pain in the ass then i thought. thanks for any suggestions!

Need a thin wall socket (deep isn't required), I have an old craftsman socket I use for it, but if you buy a cheap socket and grind it down it will work too.

They should work just fine. I used a craftsman deep well, 12 point 9/16, 3/8 drive scocket from Sears for $4 and worked just fine. The only problem had was my casting for the head was off a little so I had to turn down the nuts a little.

But when we did sean's and kelly's sup their arp nuts fit just fine and didnt need any machine work done.

The Sears deep well worked for me. didn't have to grind anything, had to move the cams a little for a few.

A Craftsman 14mm 3/8" drive will work and will fit the nut better than the 9/16".

I used a 9/16" craftsman short socket.

9/16 inch = 14.2875 millimeters

The ARP nuts are 14mm 12 pt.

iuse the craftsman one too. justmake sure you turn the cams a little to get the socket on the nut.

i used craftsman but i had to move the camshaft so it slid right in

That's fine as long as you realize it's the wrong size. For something as important as the head studs, I'm going to get the correct size
