I'm replacing my headgasket, and I've read that you MUST use arp bolts for the rebuild. Do I need head bolts and studs, or just one or the other? Do most people use the bolts or the studs? I need to know pretty quick so that I can get them ordered. Thanks for the help..

most use studs. They give a more accurate torque reading blah blah blah all that good stuff.

Go with studs :)

heres what i wanna know, if i use studs, can i still take the head off if i remove the hood, or does the engine have to be pulled no matter what?

jaguar: you will ahve to remove the studs in order to take the head off. hood isnt necessarily what gets in the way. IIRC i think putting the head back on is what causes the issue bacause the head sits back into the firewall a bit.. but its no real biggy to remove the studs just a few more minutes :)

I just bought mine from HPF.com. I've bought a good bit of stuff from them and they always ship it out in a timely manner. I think they cost $112.00 ....I'm not sure if that is right, it just popped into my head. I'd have to check my email to see if it is correct.
