I have not started my swap yet but wanted to get some info cleared up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is what i have. 87 turbo 5spd car. I just got a aristo 2jzgte with cop coils. One of the coil plugs is broken and one of the harness plugs is broken. So i will need to fix that. Hope i can get a pig tail for the harness side?

I am a welder n fabricator so making my own parts like motor mounts n exhaust, etc. Will b easy. But im new to doing a 2jzgte swap. I had a 450hp 7m n her b4 and spun a rod bearing.

What i need to know is: I saw the post on a 2jzge-t swap with all 7m harness, ecu n sensors. But is that the same for the gte?

And how should i wire 2jz c.o.p. Do i use the aristo stock ignitor or two 7m ignitors?

Pls keep in mind im electricly retarded..lol..i get confused fast with wiring things. So i will need some pin outs, diagrams, pics, etc.

Thanks for ur help...

You should have a 2JZ ignitor that connects only to the 2JZ engine harness. There's a lot more wiring on top of the obvious extending the RHD shorter harness.

Ok i found the ignitor n plugged right in. So i am under the impression that u cut off the body plugs off the 7mgte harness and connect them to the according wires on the aristo body harness. Does that about some it up? I was allso wanting to know what i can remove off the engine or have to keep as far as all the other electrical things n vac hoses. I want to clean up everything that does not have to b used make the engine run, but not trip the engine light?? I will b running a single precision 5857, r154, and ems. This is a full out gutted drift car so needs no a/c, cruise or any of that crap. It only needs to run n drive sidewaze...thanks for all ur help. I have learned so much about the swap n just 1 weekend.

Well i would but my harness is a bit fucked up n i heard he charges $200 extra for that so it would cost nearly $1000 to get it done. I felt thats more money i could spend on performance parts. When i got my 2jz 1 of coils had the plug broken n 1 of the coil harness plugs were broken. On my 7m harness i cut off every plug that i didnt use to clean things up.i hate wiring but i figured the info s out there n it would really only b about 15-30 wires needed to make it run so why not do it myself. I also am building a drift car not a street car so there were some mods i wanted to do with the wiring. If i get in too much over my head i will just send it out.

Dr. Tweak charging more to fix plugs/wiring is not a bad thing if you enjoy knowing your harness will be just as good as the day it was made by Toyota. I for one, sent him my harness and wasn't bothered by the extra cost of replacing/repairing the majority of plugs because I would rather have a 100% working harness than cheap out on shorts or falling out plugs.

I'm not saying you should or shouldn't have your harness made for you. I'm just saying, don't slam the idea of someone fixing your harness for you for some compensation. If you don't want him to fix broken plugs then you fix them before mailing him your harness.

I'll be dropping mine in hopefully late this weekend assuming all my parts arrive. I was under the impression it was just "assisting" your ABS lines closer to the firewall.

Yea What i REAAALLY want to do is the 7M swap into the MK2 thus the 2JZ swap into the MK3. Either way whichever i do 1st & finish 1st.. its a WIN. :naughty:

So what are you doing with the 7M? you going to part it out? if so let me be the 1st to know :burnout:

I checked around and found Sean Palmquist, he does the same thing Phoenix Tuning for $500 and about another $100 for new plugs with lifetime warranty. He is also at about a month waiting time right now same as Dr. Tweak. I know I am taking a chance but I 've heard nothing but good things so far about the guy and his work. We will see what happens when it comes in next week, of course you can do your own research and make a decisio. In the end that's what all these forums are all about, you can check out his website myjzswap.com for more information.

Oh man, my dream is to 1JZ swap a MK2, 2JZ swap a MKIII, and/or just own a MKIV TT.

PM'ing you about the partout.

Ok i have been doing research pretty much stop 4 weeks n i think i found enough 2jz info to decide what i want to build. I already have a jdm 2jzgte n just ordered a 2jzge. I will build a hybrid gte bottom end with the ge top end. Stay 7m ecu+ electronics with my maf trans n precision 5857. Correct me if say anything that wont work. I will b starting a new build tread and as 4 the 7m stuff ill part it all out i have a lot of new aftermarket parts n several engines. I also fab my own parts n will b making a thread 4 that as well.
