Are turbo headers worth it?

Anyone tried using a turbo header on their 7mgte? I see they sell the cheap ones on ebay for under $200 and they claim 15hp gains. Is that accurate? Anyone have any experience with these? Im about to do an engine swap, and Im thinking about trying it out. Think it's a mistake?

do you mean a tubular mani? or are we talking about headers here for an na? if its the tube mani those claims are probibly pretty accurate depending on turbo and other factors

Yeah, you're not going to get a specific gain from the manifold alone.
It's pretty hard to gauge what sort of power you would realize from the manifold alone.
If you're doing a swap, and can afford one, you may as well go for it. Just realize that you'll have to run a T4 or T3 flanged turbo. I forget which one... I think T4...

This is the "stock" e-Bay version.

It will not fit any larger turbo without a series of mods, or an adapter plate/mount.

If you want to run the 50mm WG, you will need to modify that mount as well.

in order to run the 50mm wg you have to cut and rotate the flange 90 degrees correct? that way you can dump it towards the firewall.

These ebay manifolds are really nice for the price. I would suggest if you go with one of these manifolds get yourself a t4 turbo and a new exhaust to go along with it. I had mine jethot coated along witht the hot side of the turbo. Here is a few pics of mine on my mock up motor.

Its not that big. It spools around 3 grand and hits full boost around 5 grand. But yeah its been running for some time now. I did 419 hp at 19psi. Im currently running 23psi until i get a new boost controller to turn it up more. Also ran a 12.8 at 15psi with this setup too.

The stock manifold will do fine for your ct26. Plenty of people have made good power on a stock manifold. Spend your money on other things.

Depending on your power goals, just keeping the stock manifold would do you right.

OR. You could possibly go for a hybrid if you want a little more power than the Stock CT can put out efficiently.

Your choice.
