I had any old mechanic install my Eibach Proline Springs and Tokico IlluminaII Shocks years ago. The car has never been finished yet, so it's just been sitting around. Well my new mechanic went to finish installing the other springs when he tells me that the front ones don't look right. Should the upper coils be bound like that? Mind u, there is no engine in the car.

Yeah, they're fine. They're progressive rate springs, and the tighter wound coils are the softer part of the spring that usually just sits on top of itself.

This is why progressives DON'T work on a Fat Mk3.......

The lighter weight section needs to be closer to the stock rate so it can actually support the weight without sacking out like that.....

I ran into some stubborn (8) cam bolts I had to use the acetylene on em.
Waiting game again.

The "progression" is designed into the double A Arm suspension it's NOT a McStrut crap front end.....

Someone please explain just what the coil bound section of lighter rate spring actually does for ride quality?
