I got one of this off ebay cuz I didnt wanna buy a used one, and my rebuilt block needed one according to my machine shop that did my block. He showed me how the old one was all chewed up. I got this off ebay thinking it would be decent but someone told me their garbage and will end up destroying my motor. Can anyone tell me if they have/had one and if theyre okay or if anyone knows anything about them. I wanna know before I could destroy my brand new rebuilt block. Thanks for any info!

Dyno-tested and proven on race track

since it says it in the description it must be true.

No smilie no LOL dude knock it off in Tech it's misleading to the n00bs....

OP: If you're serious about upgrading the Damper go ATI there's nothing else out there and I wouldn't trust anything 2nd hand, new Toyota Damper is almost the same cost but was designed with 230 crank in mind.

lightweight crank pulleys are a no-no for almost every type of car because they don't dampen any vibrations. Use either an OEM one, or go with something like a Fluidampr, ATI, or something similar if they make such a thing for your application.

In many fields I am finding that I am still a noob, also to the OP it is ideal to have the pulley you are going to run for the machine shop to balance out the entire rotating assembly, mine was done with the pulley and the entire clutch setup.

Makes a good point about the stock damper's original HP rating.

Agreed - as the power levels increase, so does the size of the required damper. The ATI on Duane's car is HUGE.

his is 8.5" OD.

The off the shelf ATI unit is 5.25" which is the same as the OEM toyota unit as that is what I had ATI design it around. With the 7m damper, the OD X 100 = max sustained HP it is good for. That means the off the shelf unit is goo for 525 HP sustained (talking NASCAR type sustain not drag racing). It can exceed that power rating but it would be prudent to check the damper (needed to keep SFI certification anyway) on a yearly basis. More often if runnig more power.
