The original thread as posted on masupras.com:
http://www.masupras.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129

It looks like there will be a few supras running around that weekend. We've got a few folk from celicasupra.com heading over there to show off the mk2's a bit, masupras.com is filling a campground with sups. It seems the planned meet time coincides with a major celica forum so there will be a few of those guys running around up there too.

I'll be up there. ...if you see a brown mk2 on fat tires, wave and say Hi.

(just noticed, the thread number is 129... freaky!)

A little bump for this upcoming meet ...

I posted it up in the wrong regional section here awhile back, duh - SM MidEast section

Looks like it's gonna be a decent turnout ... no Vegas or Texas meet - but fun all the same!

Should have a few campsites at Fontana Village available at $20/night for anyone interested.

Here is the official info on the April 27-28 Tail of the Dragon meet.

Here is lodging info.
Rather than trying to force people to book cetain things, I located a few optons for you if you need lodging accomidations. You will need to book as soon as possible due to the closer to the dragon and PF you are the faster they fill up. I had to call a lot of a rude places to filter out some half way decent places for you guys.

Everyone is leaning towards the Holiday Inn. These are the closest to me and they are all right off the interstate, there is some variety in price.

Holiday Inn Select Cedar Bluff
304 Cedar Bluff Rd, Knoxville, TN
(865) 693-1011

Budget Inn of America
323 N Cedar Bluff Rd, Knoxville, TN
(865) 934-1182

Econo Lodge
9240 Park West Blvd, Knoxville, TN
(865) 693-6061

Hampton Inn
9128 Executive Park Blvd., Knoxville, TN
(865) 693-1101

• Here are your options for staying closest to the Dragon.

http://tailofthedragon.com/accomodations_robbinsville.html

or http://www.talleyhoinn.com/ (Which is affordable and close as well)
$59 for a single per night. (8 rooms left)
$61 for a double (shared room) per night. (10 rooms left)

• Pigeon Forge Area. Its a bit further away (about 1 hour), but geared torwards tourists. Plenty of places to eat and things to do.

Comfort In. The rooms all have 2-beds so people might share and save more $. $89/ night. Indoor pool, breaksfast, microwave.

• Maryville. Plenty to eat and do, and only 15-20 minutes from the dragon. Not much of a night life though, but close enough to knoxville if you want to go out.

An extended stay type of room. In the $80 range.

• Knoxville.
If you stay as far away as Knoxville, you might be happier locating your own room.

If you still feel these do not suit you, you are welcome to look for your own lodging. Here are some links with more listitngs.

Or just use google's hotel search.

We will post a meeting location in a couple of weeks.
We will run the dragon first and then the group will have the option to run the skyway or stay on the dragon.

Here is the main attraction. One of the coolest roads in the country. Plus we will add the skyway into the route.

Blount's Turned Boozers!

We're now boozerific and loving it. If you come off of 40, to the dragon on Alcoa HWY, there are a few liquor store options (grocery stores are your best bet for beers). If you come down the Pellissippi Parkway (140), take the northshore exit and take a left. Left at the second light is a liquor store (first-light is a krogers). Further on, closer to the dragon, 321 and 411 both have liquor stores right off the highway.

I am going to look at rates at a hotel in maryville for a couple of the celicasupra.com guys. ...15min from knoxville, and 20min from the dragon makes it one helluva place to hang.

*edit*
I just spoke with Family Inn, on Alcoa Highway (129, near the airport)
(half-way between the dragon and K-town, convenient to each)
Link to the Trip-Advisor Review
2450 Alcoa Hwy, Alcoa, TN
(865) 970-2006

$45/night for a double-bed room
$42/night for a kingsiz-bed room

Nothing fancy, but 1/2 the price of anywhere else. I've actually stayed in this one before and it was decent, and had safe, visible, and well-lit parking areas. It is only 1/2mile off of I-140, and directly off of 129, so you have to pass it to get to the dragon from pretty much anywhere.

Mention you are with the Toyota group

If only I was still in TN. I went up there with some Celica guys a couple years back when I still had a 95 Celi and it was an absolute blast.

GL with the meet.
