API GL5 Vs. GL4

Is there any decent GL 5 oil that doesn't shorten syncro life, or will it always be like that.

My celica trans shift like ass but require GL5 :(

If you do some reading, the exception is a tranny that requires a GL-5. If the Celica requires it, it should not shorten it's life at all.

JJ - I thought you used MTL with excellent success , but wasn't sure.

Ahh, trying to find something to help my celicas shifting. I tried RL 75-80NS and it didn't help at all. I almost think it made it worse (not grinding or anything, just longer pause for the syncros). Its sucks cause the celica gearbox takes 5.5 quarts :(

Thoughts on Royal Purple Max gear oil?

Its funny, I typically think of Red Line as being a "new" company... guess not so much.
