Okay, so the UPS guy just dropped my intake off - looks sweet and I can't wait to get it on.

But I have a question - how does one go about cleaning the intake when it gets dirty? The instructions came with the box, but go figure, I can't read Japanese.

I would use a vacuum for light dirt accumulation. When there is alot of dirt I suppose you could carefully clean it with soap and water and then air dry.

lightly soaped water, and rinse it ALOT. and let it dry totally before re-assembly

you might try some kind of residue free cleaner like brake cleaner or something..

I haven't had to clean my Apexi yet, but I just figured on cleaning the way I've used on other similar filters before.

Fill a bucket with warm water, add about 2 tsp of baby shampoo, submerge the filter and let it soak for a minute, then tap it againt the bottom of the bucket to knock free any trapped air and now let it sit for about 5 minutes.

After it's had time to soak, I grab the filter and while holding under the water quickly spin it back and forth (like a one hand steering wheel ;) ). Bang it on the sides of the bucket occasionally to kick loos any trapped dirt.

Then just rinse it off VERY well and let it dry.

In alot of cases it's overkill though. But it's always worked great for me.

And that test is why I went with an Apexi. The others weren't even close IMO.

I'll probably pick one up once I have some spare change, I have a K&N but really only because it came with my old car :dunno:

How so? Sure it won't flow at all while it's wet, but once it's dry it should be fine. I could imagine the flow getting bad if you went and threw it in your clothes dryer afterward, lint and the fuz effect.
