My exhaust(topspeed or some other brand) has a removable silencer and it makes a difference. With it out I can feel the low end power lose no question. Its not a Huge difference but you can tell. I use it for sound though, Im sure any low end performance gain is really small.

I need anything, i have NO backpressure and no cat, main reason I want this though is to silence it up low end, like it says it does. Just wondering the difference.

Might be a cheaper way to do it than that silencer. Mine is just a block off plate basically. If you dont care how it looks try a cheap universal 1 first maybe and see if it does what you want. 140 bucks for a silencer seems crazy to me lol.

when i bought my apexi it came with one. i still have it, but couldnt tell you the last time i put it in. it does make a noticeable difference when its in. its nearly the same tone, just turns the volume down. it does decrease power a tad. on the dyno it was around 3hp and 7tq. somewhere around there. it was about 7yrs ago lol. really nothing you would notice.

edit: i just looked at the link. i should have done that before posting. mine wasnt the fancy ats version, but the older version.

that one opens up, magazine covered it not too long ago and said it worked great

probably a lot like the new Z06 exhaust, it opens up pretty good at WOT...

dunno on a supra though

If it opens up at WOT then youll still loose low end torque as the spring opens up freeing the exhaust.

A normal fixxed silencer would hold the pressure at WOT not robbing the back presssure.

backpressure isn't really a good term, as it's really velocity and scavenging effects...

you have TOO much backpressure now as you don't have velocity to scavenge the cylinders...
