Hello,

Is anyone an expert on these things?

I connected mine correctly, at least I think so. 2x ground, 1x rpm, 1x speed, 1x power, 1x throttle. It is possible to show all values from those 4 inputs so everything should be wired correctly.

-The manifold boost lines are run to the same place as my aftermarket boost-gauge.

-COM is connected to the stock wastegate on my CT-26
-the ON is connected to the stud on the turbo that previously went to the wastegate actuator.

For some reason I cannot seem to get more than 0.43 kg/cm2 (bar) which is stock.
The duty cycle was set to 30 to begin with and I tried 40..50..60..70..80..90 but It did not seem to change anything. Boost was set to 0.7 bar which is before fuel-cut. but still nomore than 0.43 bar on the gauge and the avc.

The gear self learning... how does it work? Do you just enter the gear learning menu and it does everything by itself? Does it show when its done learning? The manual is very limited in details on this point.

The boost/duty menu is set to 0.7 kg/cm2 and 30% duty. Now, the manual says that above 85% throttle it will enter self learning. It does not seem as if it does that. Do you just drive around with the foot planted thru all gears for it to adjust?

I placed NE-point Ne1 at 2000 and ne2 at 2500 and so on for the rest. Is this okay for the mk3?

Feedback is set to 5 thru all gears. if i turn them of, will this decrease my error-margin?

Start Duty is set to 0 all the way.

Car select is 6 cyl 4 spd and UP arror for Thr.

Next, gear judge... wtf is this?

I drove in 1st and checked the N/S and entered that value in 1st gear, it was 110
Did the same with the rest of the gears.

The solenoid is placed rather far away from the turbo and wastegate, could this have any effect?

Sincerely,
Michael L. Ærbo

try to reverse hoses going from/to solenoid... Put "COM"'s hose to another "NO" port and vice-versa.
My AVCR wasn't affecting boost at all (like you described), when I connected hoses to solenoid in wrong order.

Michael: What did you do with NC?

Hey there, NC is open as it is stated in the manual.

The problem was actually a leak in a T-fitting that i used for both my aftermarket boost-gauge and the unit. Both items did not see the proper boost levels. The stock one went way over and that made me recheck the connections.

I can only make it boost 0.7 kg/cm2 at 90% duty but that could easily be the turbo right?

Thanks for your input!

Honestly I would love to see a sticky 'how to' on the Apexi-AVC-r as I have mine at 50% duty at .75 My car boosts ok but is it boosting right?

I have some other settings set but I am very unclear on the other settings available on this controller. The gear settings just dont seem to do anything.

Biggest issue I found using an AVCR in a Mk3 is the bouncy #1 speed sensor behind the instrument cluster once I changed that and got a steady/stable input the AVCR is easy to adjust as it's selflearning feature kicks in and sets the duty cycle.

90% duty suggests something is really wrong though.

You guys need to post which WG spring you're using as well as this affects duty.

Hello IJ,

-You are correct, the speed signal is somewhat bouncy, did you just replace it with a new stock unit?

-The WG spring is the stock one on the CT26, are there different versions of it?

Michael: I ended up fitting Hall Sensors to each wheel for the Traction Control I'm running then sent their output to a Speedo correction box that turns it into a signal the AVCR can read once adjusted against my GPS for accuracy.

Manual and Auto used a different WG actuator.

Try by passing the AVCR Mac valve totally and see what boost you get with the WG plumbed stock.

I will try that one of the next days.
