A1 did not copy anything. One of my good friends actually designed those arms a few years back for another friend's supra. He just designed them to work the way they needed to. There's only so many ways you can make a suspension arm. Tube with right and left hand threads, rod end/bushing on one side, bracket on the other and done. It's simple.

Chris, heim joints are something that should get checked over and replaced when they're out of spec. If you use good rod ends, you should be able to have them stay good for a decent amount of time. The only downside is they will transmit a little more noise and vibrations into the chassis. But they will control the alignment better and allow the wheel to move the way it should. Plus you get the adjustability that you would need to get the alignment dialed in exactly how you want it.
I'm still planning on doing arms at some point. Other things have just been too busy, I haven't even touched the supra since I pulled the motor and sold it. And there's still a lot that needs to be done, but I'm probably going to pull subframes soon and do something similar to what you did and probably figure out the arms at that point. I wish I had more time to work on it now, but there's just not enough room here to be doing cages and everything else at the same time.
