While putting car back together, I thought of using a sealed valve regulated technology battery to alleviate the cleanup i had to do to all the metal around the old one.

If anyone else is using one, any recommendations as to brand, style etc...

Thanks

You might get more response if you use Gel Cell or AGM (sub categories of VRLA).

I've got an Optima Red Top myself. They use Absorbent Glass Mat technology. I'm on my 2nd one at this point. It does it's job and the 1st one lasted almost 5 years so I can't really complain.

Odyssey and Lifeline also make automotive AGM batteries.

This is an older pic but gives a basic idea. I've replaced the tie down and cleaned it up quite a bit since.

I am using the Odyssey battery (PC925).
Half the size, and can be mounted in any position.
Small size does not effect performance,
as it has never failed to crank my high compression 7MGE.

I come from a land down under
Optima Yellow top mounted in the hatch, going on 5 years now and has NEVER let me down even when discharged to the point of won't light up the dash lights.

Keep in mind they WILL vent if you exceed 15v.

Had an Optima Yellow Top in my son's Maxima for 7 years pushing a 2 amp stereo set up. Finally failed and replaced it with a red top. Also have red tops in both of the Lexus cars and my supra. Tundra is stock Toyota.

IJ - now that was funny...

But on the serious side - Thank you to all for the insight, sounds pretty consistent, so I will start looking for the best resource and get one on it's way...

Engine should be done next week :icon_bigg ... getting so close I can taste it
