make sure you have a strong motor when putting on the 57 trim. But this is mandatory before you ever modify the motor for more power. Any time your adding power, you are stressing the motor more and more. So, if your engine has 190k on it, a 57 trim will send it to its grave sooner then a stock ct.

I agree...
My engine is in the process of being rebuilt (top end) with MHG, and ARP Bolts!
It has 99,xxx miles.
I didn't know if 57 trim was over kill, thats' why I asked..

well least you wont drop a valve right, at 160,000kms on bearing&cyl wall wear is a bit though, why not do a bottle brush hone on the cyl, and change the bearings&rings??!?!? then shes close to being new right?

... If you just bolt on a 57 trim it will have almost no effect on performance. No need to build unless it's really worn out, and in that case you should rebuild it anyway. You can run decent boost on stock internals on the 57 trim too.

Good lord, how did I miss this thread...

There isn't a turbo out there that will "blow your motor." There's this little thing called a WASTEGATE that controls the boost, not to mention fuel cut...
