There are a few reviews of it on here. Look for the reviews section in classifieds.

It's cheap, but it works. Some have complained about the gaskets included not being adequate and leaking. I also think it has a rust problem if driven in less than ideal areas.

All in all, sounds like a decent deal for how cheap it is, but if you're expecting performance gains, you might be disappointed.

Painted mild steel, so it will eventually rust (worse if you scrape).

For the price, it's great as it looks stock, flow a bit better than stock IIRC, and looks stock. Did I mention it looks stock?

There is a local 91 NA around me that has the full pacesetter set up, headders, test pipe, and cat back. Honestly, it sounded like crap, he gunned it and it sounded like a Honda civic with no muffler. So if your looking for a cheap exhaust system that sounds good then this might not be for you, but thats just the way I see it. Good luck.

I think it's aluminized steel (which in essence, is "painted" steel, lol) and I'm pretty sure the mufflers are baffled and not straight through (or only the middle is baffled). In other words, I'm not a fan of them. They won't last you long, and they won't flow much better than stock. It won't even be remotely useful if you decide to go NA-T.

I give them the ultimate thumbs down. I think you should just make your own setup. If you don't mind being a little louder, you could buy one of the MK3 turbo exhausts.

And if you do go that route, I'd recommend the Tanabe Hyper Medallion. 304 Stainless Steel, good packing material, lightweight (thin), and quiet (due to the massive oval mufflers. this is good whether you're turbo or N/A). I've heard an Intake/Header + Tanabe Exhaust on an N/A in person, and it sounds great, and is very bareable noise-wise.

The medallion was discontinued and replaced by the Touring. I put that on my car and it's SUPER quite

I have it, sounds ok but its pretty raspy, Its not overally loud, nice rumble in the lower RPM's it does drone a bit. I noticed some loss in hp/tq in lower rpm's compared to the stock exhaust, have to down shift more often going up hills, but definetly a gain in high rpm power though, revs quicker, the "powerband" feels alot smoother. I did run it with a test pipe for awhile and dont recommend it at all, it makes it way too loud and raspy, sounds like crap and even more loss in low rpm. If thats the one in the picture mines an older model with dual tips. The build quality is pretty decent, I would get some VHT hitemp paint,hi temp silicon and some better clamps if you want it to last. Honestly I think it sounds alot better than what people have pieced together themselves, i personally think the pacesetter sounds better that that magnaflow setup above.

Ive also owned that catback, after I did my 3" custom setup, I threw it away.

Also have you seen the tips on the Pacesetter catback? They are way to small. If I remember correct they are like dual 1" tips :biglaugh:

stock n/a is like dual 1", they are dual 2" Look pretty much like a stock turbo exhaust, look fine to me.. dont need some huge rice fart tip back there.

Yeah overall its like 2" or 2.5", but inside it reduces to a very small diameter.

Oh yeah I forgot about that, I might try cutting the dual tip off and putting a single on because the chrome has surface rust and I dont like the yellow tape on them.

I have that set up on my NA. Its not to bad but agree it looks stock, it is alot better than the pieced together conglomorate that was under my car. If you are looking for a temp exhaust that you don't want to build or if you are on a tight budget like I am then then this kit will work for you. I am planning on eather changing it or building off of it later on down the road.

i would just go down to the local exhaust shop and let them make one for you. here where i live it cost about $140 for all the piping and labor. plus you can put whatever muffler you want. don't go with pacesetter, theres other ways to get a good exhaust for your money. you can buy a muffler from Tanabe for about 200 or so.

so i'd rather buy a good exhaust for 340 then a piece of crap for 300 :3d_frown:. thats just my opinion though :biglaugh:

Tanabe/HKS Mufflers are expensive. If you wanted to cut costs a little more without sacrificing durability, you could just go Magnaflow. Check summitracing out for them. (Look for the universal mufflers) I think they're good because they have a 304SS body, SS Mesh wrapped around a 409SS Perforated Core, and fiber glass packing as the main material. (the mesh protects it).

IIRC magnaflows don't use fiberglass at all (fiberglass sucks in the durability department, ask anyone with a sportbike)

I love my exhaust, but my bro has pretty much the exact same exhaust on his MKII (same exact muffler, but not modified for 3" inlet, and smaller piping) and his is much louder than mine as he's N/A...

Well, that's what the inside looks like. I would assume it's high temperature fiberglass (not normal fiberglass anyways).
