I'm tired of the rattling from the windows when I shut the doors. Anyone ever tackled them? What's involved?

You could buy new ones from Toyota. They are about 700 each (not bad price IMO) :biglaugh:

the rattle doesn't worry me as much as the fact that it sounds as if my window's going to shatter when shut that worries me..

probably just worn bushings and stuff...

Yea, in my passenger side door those little fluffy things are there, but they're not fluffy anymore. I was investigating how to solve this problem 2 summers ago but never found a decent solution, and lately my focus has been elsewhere on the car. If anyone has a solution to replace those thingies that'd be awesome

I just bought new fluffy things from Toyota to replace my old non-fluffy fluffy things. Seemed to fix the rattling window and it was like 30 bucks for two of them.

I replace all my fluffy things, and it didn't help. The real problem is the window regulator. I need to remove mine and see where exactly the freeplay has developed.

If the window channels/ regulator don't hold the window tight, they will rock back and forth at any intermediate position, and the fluffy things won't hold tight except at full up. Atl least that's my experience.

bingo

fluffy things will work when it's fully up, but if it's down you'll close the door and get that rattle...

I hate it, but can't afford to fix it as of yet...

SUPRA88- They're not bad at all... Just pop the door panel off.. and make sure you keep power on the window motor so you can move it up and down the get to it easier...

I like fluffy things.

I replaced my non fluffy things with new fluffy things and had sucess.

All in all, I would order fluffy things again.
