Anyone put a Soarer 1JZ into 89+ supra?

I guess I got the soarer 1jz instead of the supra 1jz. So, I was wondering if anyone has wired in the soarer 1jz engine harness that would be able to help a soon to be deployed guy. I'm trying to get my swap done before I go to the desert in Jan. Thanks.

It should be a straight foward swap considering that its the same 1JZ that was in the Supra. Unless the 1JZ in question is a VVT-i unit. Is it?

I was talking with bigaaron and he told me the engine harness connections to the body harness are different and the motor mount brackets are also different. So, I had some wiring questions.

2kV6, what is your job in the Air Force?

I know someone there. You might know them too.

Did you find out what you wanted to know about the 1JZ?

Crew Chief on C-17. Who is it that you know here? I need to find out some wiring stuff. So, not yet. I'm kinda low on money and am trying not to buy a supra harness if possible. But, if it comes to it, it's cool. Do you know anything about the soarer 1jz?

man, I wish I knew more. I have a soarer engine and cut harness. I'm going with a Stinger EMS, and that's what I'd recommend if I were you.

My question is pretty much the connections to the body harness.

Wouldn't a harness from a 1JZ Supra do the job? Unless its a VVT-i unit? As far as the mounts go, I'd just use the ones from a 1JZ Supra as well. Also off topic but what base are you stationed at? I am a vehicle maint. tech at Yokota AB in Tokyo.

Sure it would work. Only thing is that I have a soarer harness and I'm trying to save some money by wiring this in the car. I am stationed at McGuire AFB.

well, from what my research shows, the soarer a340 is stronger then the supra a342e. the soarer auto tranny is closer to the mark 4 supras beefy stock auto. mounts would be an issue anyways, but from what ive heard, you just need to move them around on the block, i think there too far forward in there mounting position. the harness is a real whore apparently being quite dissimilar to a mk3s body wiring and closer to a mark 4s wiring. if your using your r154, the same bellhousing issues arise, it can be done, just make sure the engine isnt a front sump, lol

I am already using the r154 with 1jz bellhousing. My question is about the engine harness connecting to the body harness. Thank though.

you could always just make it work by sikdering wires frmo the ECu to the supra body harness or use a standalone either way it looks like you're in for hours of wiring fun

Yea, i guess I could do that. Do you know which one I need to wire to the body harness?

I'm not sure but your going to have to get a soarer and supra wiring diagram and on the diagram it should say which clip goes to the body harness

a friend of mine on SF is in the process of creating a Excel spreadsheet of the pinouts for the soarer harness to connect to the supra. It has been done already.
