my power steering just quit working last week. I think it might just be a clogged line though but i'm not sure. Anyways, I think it is pretty damn annoying driving in the city at slower speeds. I definately enjoy the power steering much more. I want to get it fixed ASAP. I have 245's on the front by the way.

no ps is great. it feels substantial. mine went but the weight is still there; i'm too lazy to take it out right now. took the belt off though.

as for hard to steer at low speeds... don't be a wimp! and for emergency responce, i've avoided many potential hazards safely.

if you want to drift, keep two hands on the wheel. feint or clutch kick. (i would sugest holding off on drifting until you know how the car feels and reacts w/out ps.)

if you ever get into an emergency situation without powersteering. Just hold on for the ride because no amount of muscling is going to get that steering wheel under control.
True. My supra has the battle scars to prove it :(

must have forearms like popeye
True. It's quite funny watching your forearms grow from day to day as the steering wheel oddly gets easier to turn. The first few days, though, your forearms are gonna be sore as hell!

once you break the tires loose around a corner get ready for snap oversteer it WILL rip the steering wheel from your hands
True. You can pull on that wheel all you want and nothing will happen. It's like it locks...

Serious though..I have not had PS for over 2 years and is great. Looks cleaner under hood, less weight and gives back some power. +1 in my book.
...and this is the reason why I am so torn between not running it and installing it.

duane why would I kid about that :)

no I far from weak but when you are doing twisties for an hour. No amount of stregth will let you overcome the steering getting ripped from your hand. Basic physics. and without ps the car has the mechanical advantage. there is a reason even NASCAR uses power steering in thier pigs and it is not because it chews up HP.

To me the beauty of a Supra is that YOU can have all of the creature comforts and still go fast!

I just don't get this "strip it out cos I can't get it to work" mentality.....

I haven't had PS pretty much since I bought my supra in '01 after I removed the pump and most of the line due to a major leak and not wanting to shell out the $$ for replacement parts at the time. After driving like that for a while I decided just to leave it that way since I haven't ever had any problems with it over powering me. I've run soloII and gotten a little sideways a number of times with no issues. I think you'd be fine with a good seat position (for leverage) and a good two handed grip if things got a little slippy.

I definitely wouldn't remove it for the sake of more hp or weight reduction though. PS is nice to have.
