Because Jeff, on the library of Toyota manuals, not one of them says service on it. Refering to the title. They are repair, service, specs, overhaul, etc.

I am trying to think if the other additions like the transmission does, the overhaul manuals, and I don't think they do either.

Whether it does or not, TSRM is used widely by people throughout the Toyota Enthusiast community as well as techs at Toyota for all the FSM's. Only Supra people think it means Supra, because it would also make sense, and I have no problem with people thinking that, it's just people seem to bring it up when someone asks for a TSRM for another vehicle, haha.

Jeff, I worked at Toyota at 3 dealers in 2 states. Nobody called it the TSRM. It is simply the repair manual, or more commonly "the book".

But then dealers can be different. I was home in Ohio. I walked into the better of the two dealers buying a few parts. I also asked for FIPG. He brings out some worthless shit I can get at NAPA. I said, WTF is this? He said that is what they use, and it is the only thing ever used. He had been doing parts for 20 years. Well, I explained how he had been doing parts wrong for 20 years. I had never seen it used at Toytoa. In an aftermarket shop maybe, not here though. I just depends on where you work, and how far from Torrence you are. This should be a different thread though.

Meh, the question was asked and answered, and this is an extension of the topic ;) It fits.

Yes dealerships do things differently, most of the time people simply call it the repair manual, especially now that most of it is online. Saying TSRM in real life is somewhat tedious anyways, it's more of a written-form acronym I find. I don't think I ever say it in real life.

Regardless though, I don't think it really matters anyways. I have no idea how someone in Toyota parts at a dealership could not know about Toyota FIPG though, as it's in all of the reference material for parts ordering as well as the repair manuals, lol.
