A co worker of mine has a 93 corolla that she needs to replace the starter on, got quoted at like 125 for a mechanic, and I was like hey, uh, I'll do it for you for cheaper if I can find a TSRM or something.
So, anyone own one and know of any TSRM's online or anything, or know how easy the starters are to replace/where they're located at?

if you have to ask where the starter is.....
I'm not retarded, I know what a starter looks like.
Do I own a corolla though? No I don't, so how would I know where the freaking starter is?
I was just asking a simple question, if anyone knew where it was to give me some guidance as to how easy it is.

I own a 93 Geo Prizm, which has the same chassis. The starter is located on the back of the engine under the intake. Its right above the axle and exhaust.

I've done it before and it only took me about an hour, because of clearences. I have the Service manual to my Geo, so ill go and look at them and see if it has any hints.

Oh yeah, why does it need replaceing? Is it clicking or is the motor dieing?

Okay, it recommends to remove the air box and the air hose to get to the top bolt. The head for that bolt is on the driver side of the car. The bottom bolt head faces the passenger side.

There are the standard two electrical connections. One is the bolt type and the other is the clip for the solinoid signal. They are easy to get to from the bottom. Two connections and two bolts; that is all. Don't remove the long thin bolts, as they hold the starter motor to the housing.

If I had to do it again, itd take like 15 minutes.
