I kept thinking whats the cheapest way to free up some horse power and shine up the engine bay. I said a crank pulley. I've been looking around and I can't seem to find any. I went to ebay and obx sells them.I want more options though. Does anyone have any ideas?

A few years back I purchased an Unorthodox lightweight pulley. It never made it on the engine. I sold it on eBay, I probably should have just swallowed the loss. Reason I sold it is the article I have provided a link to.

Many others on here will tell you the same, forget it. I do however remember a crank pulley that did have the balancing effect needed, it was talked about on here. I do not remember the make, and I will stick with my stocker ^^

Correct, the harmonic damper can NOT be replaced by just an 'aluminum pulley'

You will eat your crank bearings.

If you want a lighter weight one, that performs better than stock - look into an ATI pulley.

I have an ATI super damper its a great quality piece a little lighter and you can remove the A/C pulley for track days or whatever.

oem. perhaps when i did my rebuild i should've gone with an ATI. after reading several posts on here, i'm wondering if my rubber damper might bite the dust

OEM 7m pulley + at least 17 years of time pssing by equals a pulley that did HAVE rubber at one point, now it is solid as the metal itself or in other words, no damping qualities, AT ALL.

ATI pulley..... The only pulley that is damped that is not OEM. Meets SFI Spec for drag racing purposes.

Alright I checked out ATI Pretty cool stuff. I can't seem to find the price. Anyone know how much it goes for. I am guessing about $300-$500.

ATI here, although not an off the shelf unit. Much lighter than OEM!

The off shelf unit is around 400 ish IIRC.
