In fact my 471 Principals of Engineering Design (or whatever it is) consumes most of my free time during the week.
Were doing GM's EcoCar Challenge. 3 year project. We are year 1. Basically, take a saturn VUE and make it a hybrid. Doesn't have to be electrical, can be anything. We'll most likely be going deisel turbo with GM's new 2-mode trans. Its a hard trans to get a hold of and even harder to make a control system for but will pay off in the performance gains over other series/parallel setups.
We really wanted to do propane injection but got shot down b/c 'we didn't have a major supplier' of it. I mean seriously, its propane...i can go right down the street and get some. Im trying to convince them to go V6 and create a system for running on 3 cylinders but this could cause complexity issues with the 2mode.
