I've been talking to a guy who makes restoration kits for the heater core box on various older American cars, and he was wondering if there's much interest in the Supra community for such a kit. I know I could use one, and he's sending me the proper foam material to replace the cruddy falling apart junk I found in the heater box when I went to replace the core. If there's enough interest he might be able to come up with the specs for all the foam pieces and such in our heater core boxes and make up some prefab, ready to install kits.

Let me know if you might be interested.

New parts are always welcome!

The pipes have foam at the connections as well, might want to include that if he makes them.

Yep. If there's enough positive feedback on the idea I'll be taking pictures and measurements and trying to find the exact specs for him. The kits generally come with the foam for the panels and doors and joints as well as any rubber gaskets which might be needed.

We're still talking about making prefab kits, but even if those aren't available yet he also has the foam sheets to cut out your own pieces. They're 18" x 24", 1/4" thick, very low compression charcoal foam. I'm working on cleaning up my heater box and cutting & attaching the new foam pieces, might do a little write-up on it for other interested parties. Here's the guys website for anyone interested in following up with him on the kits or just to get some foam for their own purposes...

Best time to get up with him is between 6 PM and midnight.
