Anyone interested in 1jz clear Cam Gear/Timing Belt covers?

I might have been wrong. I haven't gone out and looked at the engine, but i might have been thinking about the 7m. Either way. I can probably do an embossing where the 7m had their engine code. I don't know yet, once i get the drawings done, we can tweak with the design.

Can you tell me what material the previous ones were made of? I am thinking clear polycarbonate. Which i have heard can be kinda challenging, but it should be super strong.

Ill buy one! Just be sure to use a clear plastic that can withstand chemical deterioration well. Any oil, brake fluid,tranny, or steering fluid can ruin many types of plastic. So be sure to pick a plastic that can withstand the heat and chemicals it will/may be exposed to.

I have got super busy. I will see if i can do it. I have no idea when i will get to this project now. Someday, but last quarter just blew by.
I am designing a new Carbon Fiber hood for the supra this quarter. That is my main goal. I have tons of ideas, but i am not sure yet what i am going to do. That will definately be a one off.

you can buy the greddy ones for 150 dollars. But if you are making them with Toyota and yamaha logos.......it may suit some people.

Not a good idea to put the logo on it.. you could get sued by toyota....

very true! but are we really going to run to toyota and tell them he made it with Toyota's logo/name on it? I know i wont. It can be a custom pc thats it. Special request as to what you want on it. Not liek he's advertising it as a toyota made clear timing belt cover so he should be ok.

anyways, i still dont like the idea of a clear cover unless the connections are made to absorb vibrations... im thinking of the rubber grommet-style things on the 2jz's charcoal canister because that was the weak link of my ATI one

Go for it.... The only thing I see with this is heat resistance.
After having it the last we want is for it to get all warped.
