yeah and my helper was really drunk, i think thats hurting more than helping.
Umm you are lucky he did not cause you to get hurt and not to soud like a "dad" but thats not funny.

Well yea it is..... until something drops on someone ..... then the laughs kinda phase away and then the laughing comes to a complete stop as they are being smashed by something and the pain causes their body to freeze as they are trying to help them selves and they simply cant because the pain is just too much for them to move and they are frozen. Just call it paralyzing pain ……. It happened to me when I was 17.

Maybe I am just a little bit “antsy” but I remember the first time I pulled my tranny on my old 89 NA was back in 2002 and the driveshaft got a hold of my finger and I found it really hard to move any part of my body because simply it hurt that bad, but lets just say I was glad that my "helper" was fully alert, sober and an knowledgeable person.

Safety first don’t work in the dark and don’t work with people who are not competent or better yet don’t work with people lacking common sense. Its not worth it not too long a go a high school kid was working on his fox body mustang. By himself, trying to loosen a bolt by putting a long bar on the ground and pulling on another bar and the bar slapped him in the face, knocked him out, broke his jaw, lost 3 molars, and had his mouth wired shut for 2 ½ months.

I recommend unbolting the engine mounts from the bottom under the frame of the car this way when you lift it just pops right off and you will not tear a mount since it comes with the engine I pull several engines a week this is to me the best way to do it no matter what year the car.

When it comes time to reinstall the subframe has guide slots in it. Its so much faster to install with the mounts on the engine already.

You can always unbolt the mounts. u have 3 places to chose from..... unbolt the whole assembly from the block, separate the mount or loosen the bolt from underneath and pull the entire assembly out
