Anyone have any problem with their gas doors?

Seems like all the supras I've seen, the gas door hinge is always bent!

Anyone know why this is, or any ways to fix it? Now my own is bent, and won't pop open on it's own - the cable is fine

Mine is missing the rubber part!!!! But ya alot of the supras I see have something wrong with them.

hah, mine can't stay closed. It doesn't latch closed I use paper to keep it closed till my 88 is running.

The one on my NA used to work fine...but this one used to be just open all the time (previous owner removed spring and latch when the cable popped off) I popped the cable back on, and got a spring and latch from Suprahero, and now it will stay closed, but when you go to pull the latch to open it, you have to pull on the door itself a little and it opens...much safer than before...and now there isn't any chance of anything happening to my gas (vandalism, theft, etc...). thanks Suprahero!!!!!

mine was bent and kinda off centre... so I straightened the hinge and then bent it outwards a bit on the bottom... now it looks like new!

mine works fine, but the front of it, sits in so it's not flush like the back, i thnk it's an adjustment thing but not positive..

I have to wedge something underneath it; and then go pull it out. It doesn't pop out at all. Only car I have ever experienced this problem with.

In most cases you just need to tweak it back into the right shape (bend it by hand)

a couple of time's mine wouldn't open.i guess the cable was stretched.i did a little quick fix once i got it open.i took a file to the little black plunger that holds it shut.i filed it down a little,now it open's every shot.i got a new cable for it,but waiting till i get a new rug to install it.

I put a new one recently, and when i pull the lever in the cabin, the door FULLY pops open. I don't touch the door at all except to close it. It's nice.

ALl it needs is paint and it's good to do.

mine would scrape on the inside when you opened it... i just put some washers on the hinge for shims... a little tough to pull the latch, but it doesn't scrape

i'm getting around 25 mpg when i run it propperly.... maybee more than that, and yes, i usually do drive like an old lady (in terms of speed, nothing else ), unless the occasion calls for me to do otherwise :evil2:

I filed the black plunger like tsuper92 did and it works fine i only had to take a lilttle off. Pops every time.
