If I had a built 7M and a motor-less Mk4, I would do it. Just like I would love to put an LS into my BMW. It's my car, so I don't care if it pisses off the "purists"...

I love my 7M. Blown 2 out of ignorance, and got a third that im fixing because i cheaped out on the build. If it wasn't for the fact that I've spent so much on new aftermarket performance bolt-ons for the 7M tho, Id jump on a 2JZ in a heart beat. 99 out of 100 times the weakest link in the 7M is the owner. That being said, the 2J is just a newer, improved version of the 7M.

As much as i prefer the MA70's looks over the JZA80's... I find that to be a waste of a JZA80.

technically yes...

but a 2JZ-GE block is pretty much the same as a GTE block and can be picked up CHEAP..

yes so ive heard..so just out of curosity when you go get it smogged wouldnt the smog place know that its not the og 7mgte? I also heard something about having someone sign off the swap is this true?

Ah that would be pretty crazy, as jeft said prior yea JZ's do have a better
base plateform but thats just to start from, a 7M can easily made to be as durable
and have the longetivity of a JZ. Not to mention alot of guys like the torque of the 7M and believe it or not
some actually regret going 1jz. Elaborate on the Weaker tolerances part please... i'd like to hear this. And the 1jz-2jz cant make butt loads of HP with stock internals unless you consider "butt loads" 550-650hp area.

Much fail in this post. ONE 7M made ~750rwhp on an all new factory motor + MHG + ARPs. NA 2J internals can do what, 150rwhp more than that? There are quite a few stock motor 700+rwhp JZs. I know of a local one that runs around 650rwhp every time it's driven. In fact, it was a daily driver until he got tired of breaking R154s. Can't say the same for the M series. If by easily made as durable you meant a complete rebuild with all higher end aftermarket parts, yes. It still wont have equivalent longevity. It boils down to a math problem, 2Js are undeniably more suitable to living at higher RPMs.

Additional fail in thread. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?99476-Supra-Head-Flow-(5M-7M-1JZ-2JZGE-2JZGTE)

Doesn't look "damned near the same" to me, especially not on the intake side.

It's a newer motor with more knowledge used in it's construction. It's not rocket science, nothing to worry about either. 7Ms are still great motors, I've had three 7M powered MkIIIs so far and will probably own more in the future. But, JZs are superior, hands down.

My fake sounding car is hungry... :D

Is that a challenge? If it is then I'm gonna have to do allot of trash talking followed by setting a time and day! And then respectively disconnecting my phone and hiding in my basement.

even this guy didn't know what to think.. :biglaugh:

Photochop and a terrible Idea. I think I am going to swap my 7m for the 4m. I hear if I build it and get the right turbo it can make great power...
