I think the easiest way to get more power in the turbo's in terms of camshafts - is to drop in the Cams off an N/A. They're actually quite aggressive out of the factory. If you think about it, they're easy enough to get hold of, and reasonably inexpensive. Especially if you get them off a BHG'ed one :p

Keep in mind if you go with NA cams...it shifts the torque/HP curve left rpm wise. That means you will hit peak HP sooner (at about 4800-5000 rpm) and it will flatten out. To over come that, you will need more boost and fuel...that's when flowing the head comes into play.

Remember...you change one thing and it affects the whole

Having your head gasflowed is always a good idea though - no point in cranking up the boost if the gas flow is reduced at the head. It's not expensive to do.

I'd think that torque lower down the rev range would be preferable, and HP might just flatten out - but realistically, are people really taking their cars to redline every day, or even banging down a motorway? Doubtful they're exceeding 5500rpm on a daily basis! :)

I shift around 7200, not daily but everytime I drive it. :icon_razz

I would also like to see what all has been done with some real aftermarket cams with some agressive lift. Anyone had any experience with the Brian Crower 272 cams?

I got some aftermarket cams in the engine that I am going to install sometime this month. I'll post up a video when I get the car running again.

Can I shift before 5500rpm? I never tried that. :biglaugh:

It's just a rumor Aaron. I'd be scared to try it for fear I would tear something up. You'rs and Kwnates way is definately the best.....................;)

Someday someone will have a set to test...

I'll get to test mine in about a week, although I don't have a baseline dyno to compare mine too.

Make sure you give us an update and review when you get them in though... I'd love to get a good set of aftermarket cams but i don't have the time or money to test different options.
