Anyone Buy This Turbo Manifold?

Im interested in getting a turbo manifold for my mk3. The old ones all rusty and gay looking so i wanna clean up the engine bay (a bit more than what i've allready done).. anyone purchase it? how's it on performance? I know it looks decent... its new dammit and not rusty. but if its restrictive and going to hurt the performance of my car then its not worth it.

this the the XSpower manifold.

It works

but be aware that you need a different turbo

turbo lines
ic piping and all that to make it all work. It is a good price for the manifold but be weary that the price will increase significantly to make it work properly (to the tune of around $1000 after all lines, piping on both exhuast and intake is made).

ok iv been looking at thins manifold for some time now but havent found out if the turbo flange i the same size as the stock ct26??

Nope; I can tell you right now that it isn't. I believe it is a T4 footprint; therefore you will have to buy a turbo which is a t4. You could buy an adapter to put your stock turbo ONTo the new manifold.. but that would just be a waste~

The 7m manifolds are pretty nice and we will warranty them for a year. It is a t4 manifold and you need an external wastegate. Like Figgie said, the total cost after buying all the parts needed will be $1000 or more depending on what turbo you run. We do have a HKS style wastegate that fits that manifold and I am running it along with a few people who have bought them. www.mdcmotorsports.com can get you the oil lines. The 7m tubular manifold is not restrictive at all, but the ct26 exhaust housing itself is restrictive. A basic ebay 60-1 turbo will outperform the ct26 easily.

We also have the 1jz version of that manifold in stock at $260 right now, and we may be the only ones right now, at least at that price.

The piece is nice, however, there are a few things I wish they would correct...

1: the wastegate flange is 90* off... If you mount your w/g to it, the dump tube is either going to face your block or the strut tower/inside fender... I had mine cut off and turned 90* so my dump tube faces backwards now...

2: the collector should be longer, moving the T4 flange up a little more, and maybe even turning it about 2*s out... Any turbo with a comp housing larger than a 60AR is going to hit the runners unless you get a spacer... I had one welded onto mine...

But over all, its a nice piece, especially for the cost... You have to be aware though, that when you go with this manifold, you should just make arangements to rid yourself o fthe stock turbo... Everything will change... The position of the turbo, your down pipe, the angle, everything... This manifold is a great way to go when you're ready to start making mor epower and upgrading... If you dont like the rusty stocker, just paint it with some high heat paint...

Great info! Thanks for posting that! Like he said, everything is basically custom when you go to a t4 turbo. Even when I bought the $600 Turbonetics cast manifold to go with my 62-1 Turbonetics turbo, I still had fitment issues and needed a 1.25" spacer! Plus I had to make a custom dump pipe for my wg to get the right angle. It's only going to be a bolt on kit if you buy something sold as a complete kit, but the cost will be much higher.

I wanted the durability of a cast manifold, not that the stainless ones are not durable, but there is a reason most oem manifolds are cast. I think the tubular might actually flow a little better then the cast log style but with a t04 outlet the flow should not be a problem.

Eric: It's more noticable on thinwall headers they "ring" like hitting a bell!

It's not too bad on turbo cars but NA's it can be really annoying! ;)

Cast headers are much quieter! (most modded Mk3's run noisy exhausts so you never really hear it)
