Ive searched and sorted through several threads. Ive seen a bunch of guys in the 300-400 range on one of the "modded" A340Es. Is there anyone out there running this tranny at >500hp? If so, do you spend any time at the track? I dynoed 550hp and 650tq on boost and nitrous. I know the cost issue and the TH400 issue, but Id like to stick with a stock one if itll hold. The modding for these trannies has come a long way since I dumped my auto years ago. IPT was mentioned in several threads. Anyone with similar HP using one of these?

Not a newebie (actualy around pre-SM!), just looking for anyone with actual experience in this area.

Thanks,
JG

local guy just did 712rwhp in his auto, with a 72dbb turbo.

He said the tranny shop did something with the line pressure.
car is deep into the 10's and was 11's with the stock ct-26

Cool. Can you get me some info on him or a contact? Thats what the performance range Im lookin for! How has the tranny lasted for him? Im still not sure that just the Raybestos Blues and increased line pressure would hold 650Ft# on Tq.

Thanks,
JG

You actually put down 650rwtq on a stock a340??? Im supprised you just didnt loop the dyno

Nnaaawwwwww!!!!!!!!! I converted from a automatic to manual about 4-5 years ago. The stock one died twice when I was around 350RWHP (stock one plus the rebuild). I put in a manual and Ive had a "swap" portion on my website for years. Now it looks like Im flip-floppin' back!
