Anynone use an HKS A/F Knock Amp?

The knock sensing is now working. It won't auto-tune it because my idle is so erratic. I can't manual tune it right now because it's winter, and I have 205s in the car, and I can't boost in snow. Other than that, it does a good job.

It uses the factory knock sensors, yes. It uses an NTK wideband O2 sensor. You give it certain values like cylinder bore, knock sensor signal types, etc, and it will program itself to read the knocks. It also has a headphone output so you can listen to the sensors yourself, which is REALLY cool.

The display shows you A/F ratio, raw knock reading, and processed knock reading, as well as an adjustable scale you can switch between displaying knock or A/F. It also does peak and hold functions on all signals, as well as programmable analog outputs on the wideband, and knock, so you can send the output to another computer (My ECU reads the A/F for example, and adjusts its fuel tables accordingly)

It's a bad-ass unit. It's expensive, but worth it. Now I want the matching boost controller :)

I was not impressed with the matching hks boost controller. I got it when it first came out. It's a very expensive unit but worked well, will keep you from overboosting which comes in handy in cold climates. As soon as winter hit i noticed on cold mornings the stepper moter would not kick in right away (needed a warm engine bay). Next the lcd display screen would show error or just freeze up on a cold morning 6 months later stops working hks is no help, they want to sell you another compleate unit. To pick up just a screen or stepper is upwards of 300.00 fuck that picked up a greddy..

for the money pick up a j& s knock guard, or knock link, or turbo xs knock moniter. Shown in order

Yeah, I run a Profec B Spec II right now. It's a decent unit, I just want to try something else. I'm growing tired of re-tuning the PBII every time the temperature changes around here.
