264 or 272 means nothing, this not how you measure the size of a cam. Every motor will react to the same cam differently. Depends on the whole combination of mods.

N/A cams have less lift, which is the opposite that you want...

N/A engines usually have less miles and/or wear, so the lobes might be in better shape

but by the book, the turbo intake cam has more lift, and toyota changed it for a reason...

I'd like to see someone with the money and know how (hmmmm Rich looks like he could do it) to buy a new N/A and Turbo intake cam from the dealer and find out the true specs on them...

i installed my turbo cams from my gte head over to my NA. i did make a difference. when it' sitting around 3k rpms, and when in the proper gear, it feels strong. almost like right before boost builds up on a turbo engine. you start feeling that power, then all of a sudden, BAM there it is, only i don't get that BAM... :(

but i also have a K&N FIPK from when i had a 7MGTE, and my exhaust only has a straight through muffler, no cat or resonator.

ok... so im gonna give a list of mods i plan on having... and wonderin if anybody can tell me what kinda gain id have. plans for k&n fipk, TMS downpipe, test pipe, then just custom 3 inch exhaust back, and then boost controller. oh and greddy timing belt with tms head gasket 2mm and arp head bolts. now if i had all this with the boost up to 10 psi... and the brian crower i think it is? the set for like 500 somethin... but with those and all of that what kinda gain you think id have with the cams? i figure with everything else id be around 280-300 without the cams. anyone with simular mods that i listed? if so what kinda power gains you get? am i close? or way off?

Stock turbo? You might want to get that upgrades and install larger fuel injectors and a walbro first.

If you have the cams already, just install them, but if you are looking to spend money there's other things that you can buy.

Heck with that! They cost over 400 per cam. To tell you the truth, it does not matter any longer if the na is better/worse than the turbo cams. Aftermarket and cheap regrinds have been around for so long now that the point is mute. Kinda like arguing between a lex afm and a stock afm. Both are worthless.

Any other feedback on gains from cams on a BPU 7MGTE? I've got upgraded fuel pumps and lines, full 3" exhaust, 550 injectors, well-tuned SAFC, 57Trim Garret CT, and about 400rwhp. If I could add 40hp with cams, would that not be the next best "bang for my buck" expenditure? i.e. $500 or so for Crower cams?

well i find with stock head there will not be as much of a gain

i find if you do a cam might as well do the rest since your car is off the road
