So hey guys i have a 1990 Mk3 Shell That has been sitting in my parents house for about 2years now.

It's original White package 7MGTE (Auto) with Maroon Interior No body damage or paint damage for that matter.

I bought it with out a title for really cheap I had the VIN ran about a year ago by the police department to make sure it was not stolen. My plans are to swap in my interior/engine and trans.

I went to the DMV recently to try and obtain a title but they would not release any info on the owner for me and told me it could take up to 6 more months to get the title maybe longer.

So does anyone know or can help me find out any info on this car or its past owners ?

VIN# JT2MA71N7L0139783
Car 1990 Turbo Targa White package AUTO trans.

It is none of your business. I don't mean that in a snotty way, but you have no reason to know...anything about what somebody else bought in the past. I know you want history of the car, and they might want to share. I mean from a liberty point of view.

Wouldn't the police department be able to get that info? I am sure they can. You don't have any buddies in the local department?

If that fails, can you do anything with the bill of sale?

Here in NY, if you don't have the title, the car is as useful as a 80 year old porn star.

That's the thing history about the car is not to important as more of finding who ever can get me the title. Basically just trying to locate the last registered owner to ask them to sign over the car to me.

The bill of sale was not from the last registered owner. the guy i bought it from did not have the title either.

The car is in such good shape that it would be just a shame to let it go because of a title, so i figure i have to give this a fair shot for the car.

If its that good of a car, car fax it to see if the owner is in AZ if you are not sure and post up some pictures, maybe someone will know the owner.

Could file for what is commonly known as a Sheriff's Title. Basically, an LEO comes out, checks the car out, verifies the VIN, signs a paper for you to take to the DMV, they give you another form, and it goes on and on from there. Took me about 2 months to get a title for my old Celica... have fun Jordan. ;)

Yeah Brad exactly what I'm trying to avoid by tracking down the last registered owner. Of well guess I'm going to have to go this route and wait some more.

It will be worth it to have my motor in a clean shell for once.

Another thing you could do is contact someone at a towing company and have the file for an UNabandoned ( spelling ) car title. Friend of mine did one that way. took about a month and a few cases of beer.
