Well i was driving my supra down the highway yesterday, came to the end of the highway and stopped at an intersection while at the intersection the car started steaming out of the hood and the temperature gauge instantly spiked to the top. I pulled into a gas station and turned the car off right away and it leaked out every last drop of coolant all over the parking lot. Well it turns out it is just a broken hose, i found the end that broke but i cannot seem to find the other end or even which hose it is so any help would be greatly appreaciated.

well maybe thats why i couldnt find it:icon_bigg so its just a blockoff cap? where can i get a new cap at? toyota dealer or an autoparts store?

In RHD cars it's the Heater Hose.

Get a good quality blank plug and clamp then try and find a way to shield it from heat. (Toyota must have been INSANE putting all that shielding in there what would they know huh!) ;)

Clap a short rubber hose to that, then plug the rubber hose with a good quality spark plug and works like a charm. No problems from heat either....

Also you can tell people you have 7 cylinders too... :bigthumb:

i have a JDM motor, and left the existing pipe on the motor, simply to eliminate another possible point of failure. :)

my heater hoses look interesting, though. ;)

i have a jdm motor too, and didn't realize that the heater hoses were on different sides. but i always thought that they were idiots for putting the heater hose on the passenger side and the inlet on the drivers side (LHD cars).

i'm glad someone said something cause i never knew.

If you have a jdm engine that should be the heater hose for the heater outlet. and where it should be on an american engine theres a cap. I had the problem where my heater wouldn't work and when i finally took my top end apart to put a HKS gasket on I realized the heater outlet hose i had hooked up was not doing anything because there was a plug on the water line. So you probably have to run a section of heater hose to the driver side heater core outlet.

If it's blocked you have a domestic engine. I did what Grim said (machined a plug and GTAW it shut) but if you have that cap you should "connect" it to your cooling system service. Replace it whenever you replace your coolant along with the other things that are associated with cooling system maintenance. That way it never gets a chance to bite you.
