I think that's a clever idea. My fan is dangerously close to the upper rad pipe on my swap and I've been looking for a solution.
The flow is the way it is for a reason in respect to the thermostat and waterpump. I have had no problem with my setup whatsoever, and my housing doesn't have the bend that goes around to the top of the Rad. I will fix that but must insist you run your pipes as is, and only use my way as a temp fix. Again, I had no problems, but please take heed while running backwards. The coolant is going in the bottom of Rad and being pushed upwards, so keep that in mind. Always keep tabs on coolant quantity, always keep it topped the f*ck off if running like I have. On my Supra If an IC blows the engine and fan moves and blows something, but E-fans with a mishi will fix that...and polyurethane mounts. If it weren't for winter i'd ride replacing a 4th Rad, instead of solving problems...I so adore my Dragon...
