I got my car all back together. Runs awesome took it out for a drive and the temp gauge goes up!!!

I wasnt far so I drover her home. Open the hood and right under the intake manifold there is a wicked leak. I cant tell where its coming from. Is there a hose there? I lost almost all my antifreeze. Is seems like its dripping (really fast) down the lower runners. :1zhelp:

Anyone had this problem???

There is a hose that runs from under intake ports 1 & 2 to the IAC. Then another hose from IAC to the TB. Check those hoses for leakage.

Lots has been said about it. There's a hose for the idle speed control valve and TB coolant loop. Look there. Also since the coolant path runs through the intake manifold if the bolts are loose it'll leak.

Fwiw experienced mechanics will pressure test the coolant and fuel system after assembling an engine and before starting it. You might want to try that next time.

edit: beaten by Kck...

Meh...I woulda replaced all the rubber before I put a motor or head back into the car.

It was beaten into my head long ago. If you have time to do it twice, you had plenty of time to do it right.

Yup this was the problem... Fixed it, drove it and now the problem is when i am driving around the temp goes above normal but not hot, but the motor seems really really hot when you open the hood...

I parked the car and the over flow is overflowing and bubbleing like crazy.

WTF now!!!

Its got a new HKS head gasket just put in.

You have to have both the head and block milled for the mls gaskets, even the stopper. If you didn't, that could be your problem. Both surfaces need to be smooth, and free of imperfections. I'd suggest a block test, to check for exhaust gases in the coolant.

It's also possible that there is an air bubble trapped in the cooling system. Best way to get rid of that is cut the bleeder valve off out of the t.stat, and refill the cooling system slowly. Make sure that the hole where the jiggle valve was is at the top of the t.stat when you install it.

It would help if you gave more details. Overflow bubbling could either mean your coolant is getting so hot that its boiling or combustion is leaking into the cooling system and being pushed out. Determine with an accurate gauge or temp gun if your engine is getting too hot. Make sure your coolant is full in the radiator, not just the overflow, and give us a little more detail.

Did you do the whole job yourself or have it done?

If this is a turbo car, and needs to be in the GTE section, please ask a mod to move it for you, as there can be some subtle differences between the two(n/a and turbo) vehicles.
