Antenna trouble!!!!

I have the 3 pc spoiler on my 87 and also changed out the antenna to match. Problem is I need a new mast. Got one from Toyota, 86336-14370, as per EPC application, but it screws on to the cable?!? WTF?:aigo: The antenna I have, has the cable w/ the teeth and it is attached, not smooth like 87-88, and the cable does not separate from the mast! Anyone else run into this? No supercessions from Toyota on the part # or anything!

Any help is appreciated.

I haven't seen a Toyota antenna with a smooth cable. Pics of both?

The cable is supposed to be attached to the mast, or the mast won't go up or down.

sorry, no pics. i put it back together until i get the right part/part number. the early models had a hard plastic smooth cable that you crimpped into a "drum" that went on the antenna motor. on the end, they threaded onto the end of the mast (in 92, most toyotas went to the one-piece style like i need, w/ teeth on one side) unfortunately, there seems to be no listing for this application. the 86336-xxxxx is a prefixed # for just a mast, no cable, but the mast cable combo is a 86337-xxxxx. no 86337-xxxxx listed for a mkiii supra!

I had antenna problems but I soved them when I took my car to the body shop and they shaved it off.:naughty:

This has nothing to do with antennas, but your car is looking great! When are you gonna get it painted?

Also, your license plate is incorrect. According to Jeff Lange, there were no MA71's.

thanks matt! i tried "my ma70" but it apparently was taken. although there are no "ma70" model #`s, turbo cars are "ma71" by vin.

oh - paint, yeah, it`ll be a while, priorities ya know, kids, mortgage, etc.....
