i still want to figure out what a nattie light is so i can drink one in your honour the nexyt time i go on a tear.

i tried finding the "whos drunk right now" thread but got lazy so anyways, good luck with teh job in NC man.

btw is a "nooklear" worker likea trade or sumthing? whats all involved with the work? it seems kinda interesting, aside from the three headded children and body parts falling off n shit.

i did millwrighting for a while and it was pretty interesting. im just trying to get a career path sorted out for now.

Who do you work for Will? I'm gonna guess Westinghouse, since you're in Pitt. I know some people who work for PaR nuclear which was bought by Westinghouse about a year ago. They make refueling platforms, polar cranes, fuel transfer euipmant and spent fuel handling platforms. You ever work with their stuff? Since they are part of Westinghouse now they will be doing alot of the AP1000 stuff, so I'm sure you'll see it eventually.

Welcome to the Harris plant...well in April anyway. I work in the corporate office for our nuclear fleet...support our CNO. Looks like we may be building one or 2 more reactors at Harris. Sumitting the COL next fall, witj construction planned in 2009 or 2010. You should try to do an outage at our Brunswick plant sometime (U1 is refueling now). Its on the very most southeast coast of NC, beautiful weather down at our beaches now. Also, our Crystal River plant is a nice olace, esp if you like fishing or scuba. Its about an hour from Tampa and Orlando.

stanzaspeed,

I think there are some nuke plants up your way, ... somewhere.. I don;t know if you wanna call what I do a trade, I guess its a job of professionalism.
We take a team of guys and we inspect steam generators, with w/ robot, and check for any damage, then we either fix or or take out of servive some of the parts pending on what the power plants wants

supra87t/t4;
what up, yea, I do work for westinghouse, I'm familiar with all that stuff you mentioned, but that all for refueling, I never got trained for any refueling, I do mostly stuff on the steam generators...

Stwilm;

yea man, thats the plant,
first I'll be down in Catawba then have to go to Sheran Harris plant about the 10th of april to about may 2nd, I am really looking forward to it especially to get some warmer weather an get away from the coooler pgh weather...
