Another No start =/

So i bought this car as is..Trailered it home.Got it for $350.00
Its a 1987 n/a supra, Couldt pass up a good winter project.
I replaced.....

-Starter
-plugs/wires
-all relays/fuses
-battery

Cranks but wont start.
Anything that im missing that
is common with the 3rd gen
supras ?

no. start with the basics for a no start condition. there's a couple things needed to get the engine to run.

1) air - unless the timing belt is broken or skipped this should't be an issue. Even with a couple blown cylinders these things will still run
2) fuel - check and see if you are getting fuel to the cylinders (coldstart injector is an easy place to check while it's cranking)
3) spark - pull a plug, ground the threads and crank it.

if any of of those three things are missing (and one is) then it won't run. i've got to narrow it down to one of those three systems first, then backtrack to where the problem is.

timing belt looks fine...
like i said before all plugs are new.
how do i check if its getting fuel ?
Just from the smell of gas in the cylinders ?

pull a plug and crank it see if you can smell fuel or out the tail pipe with enough cranking

Check your fuses, EFI fuse is under the hood in the fuse box though

Thats what I meant ... My bad

check to make sure all your components are plugged in.
check your coil pack, distributor- basic spark test checks these.
fuel-crank it for a few seconds and smell your tail pipe.(pretty barbaric but works...trust me

make sure your distributor is in properly, not 180 out or somthing.

does the check engine light come on with key on?

my car would do the same, it was the distributor, it had condensation on the metal contacts, scraped it off with a screw driver and she fired up the 1st time...

check your codes, and see what is coming up..

I can smell fuel in the plug valley
The fuses are all good..
maybe the dizzy is effed..
I'll buy a new cap/rotor and
see if it helps any.

you need to go though and check all your connections, with no CEL your prob not getting a RPM signal

Blaahhhh =/
So i put her up on ramps, Checked the connections..Grounds..Etc.
Sanded them down.All good.
Now........................i tried to crank her over.
Nothing..I can now hear the relays clicking.
Not cranking at all.
ideas ??

dead battery now after all the cranking.

i recharged it.
no crank.
took the battery out of my DD celica.
put her in the supra.
no crank..just clicking
im getting very discouraged.

clean up the terminals really well or replace them, my Toyota 4x4 did this every time I pulled the battery out it just wasnt getting a good enough connection even though the Voltage gauge would read 12v when I put the key to the "ON" position.

if not, can you turn it over by hand/breaker bar or roll start it?

I dont think its the terminals.
I sanded down the inside of the
battery connections as well as the terminals.

Havent tried the roll start..i thought that
was only for manuals.

There are actually four things needed. Somewhere for it all to go being the last one. My friend had a camaro that he bought at auction for a couple hundred that wouldn't start. He messed with it for a couple of day. I told him to cut the cat off and it fired right up.

Still a no go for me..Doesnt have any exhaust after the headers.

This may sound dumb, and you said that you already checked all your connections but for your sake this may be worth a shot. right after I rebuilt my GE it would turn over but it wouldent start i checked every thing and it all checked out, then I pulled off the wire from the ignition coil on the distributer and the metal part on the end of it was jammed up at the top, i pulled it out with some needle nose and it started right up, id check all your wires and see if thats it. if not, sorry i couldent help.
