Absolutely correct! Ran into a guy at a show a while back, he had these laminated and stuck to the inside of his windows. When I asked how he'd kept them in good enough shape all these years, he laughed and admitted they were replicas.
I don't know much about decoding the VIN, however, it would be a simple task to create one with any options you like and send you a PDF so you can print it yourself.#04;1825629 said:

Actually mine is a '91 that I bought new in early '92 after it had been sitting in the show room for a while. The owner of the dealership was a good friend of mine and I got the car for 1/3rd off of the sticker price.
