Thanks, now I got it.

A few of my buddy`s ran this pulley a few 10.000 miles and there`s no problem with the bearings yet.
This aluminium one weights only 1/10 of the oem pulley, so I`ts not that problem because of the unbalanced weight. And do you think a 22 year old oem one is better balanced than the new aluminium one? I don`t think so, because when the dampening material in the pulley is getting older it is getting harder, same like the hoses...

I talked to a lot of people before I mounted it, half of them said that it`s good and the others said it`s bad. So I decided to take the risk and try it.

Buy an ATI Super Damper, lighter than stock, fully balanced. Many people here use them, great product. I know Rich at SIP sells them or you can check their website. They run around $425. I definitely would not run a straight aluminum pulley, no sense in ruining your bearings and having to start all over again.

Were your buddies running 7ms? Some cars are internaly dampned and don't need them. 7Ms are not like that; you NEED that dampner. ^^ATI is the way to go.

Hi,
I don`t really care about my turbo, If it`s broken its broken...

Julian

When I said a few had catastrophic failure I meant the compressor wheels basically exploded. So just be careful is all I meant, if the turbo doesn't matter go for it but catastrophic= shrapnel going through your intake.

as for the pulley

Its not the balancing that is a problem, you can easily balance an aluminum pulley. Its that the factory pulley is built with insulation between the two main rotating masses to absorb the resonance. Is a few hp if that worth cutting the life of your motor down?

in the end everything is your call we are just trying to help

So a drift car build with no real mention of suspension or diff or steering or anything else really important for drifting.

Interesting...

Who needs suspension to drift:dunno: just drive really fast and pull the ebrake:sarcasm:

too soft = outside tire digs in and kills the drift

lots of other issues as well, that's why my car is a grip car and not a drift car...

Thanks for help, but I don`t think the wheel will explode within maybe 800 miles...

Interesting...

First there`re full B&M Coilovers installed... And I think the diff and steering doing pretty well.
And thats a build, not a finished car, so we`ll see what`s coming next...

All I see is what looks like lowering springs on painted stock shocks.

So what diff are you using?

And stock steering is not enough to even have fun with. You run out of angle so quickly that it sucks.

And your car is way too high to be considered a drift car.

Hi,
the B&M springs are stiffer than the stock one`s. Together with the really light car, it`s stiff enough.

The car is not a real drifter, it`s my daily car, and here are a lot of nice rallye and tongue (don`t know how to spell this word, i hope you understand what I mean) tracks, so I drive always wot and If there`s a nice corner, I`ll drift around it... I`ll go to a few track and drift days too...

On the pictures there`re no coillovers installed, I have to get the car out of the shop first until I can take new pictures...

Hope to be back on the road this week... ::w00t::

I only have to fix the power steering leak, get the bov flange and throttle body welded and the bumper installed.

Here`s a little video from last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHlNun8a6W0

Yes, all supras with 7M`s. One of them with over 850hp and 7800rpm... :aigo: Others all around 450hp and one of them uses his on the "Nordschleife"...

You really should consider tieing the two ends of that bumper support back together. You could do it with some light weight tubing and keep the airflow, and some of the weight you lost while still makng it rigid. The car needs the two front frame rails tied together to keep them parallel. Without that the whole front end is going to flex all over the place under stress.

Got her out of the shop today:

Then I put the lights in and secured the bumper and drove a little bit around. It`s a great feeling to ride the supra again... Everything feels great...
