just curious on some opinions and experiences some of you had with shimming the wastegate good and bad ones.

I know that it decreases life span of the Turbo but is it worth it?

I will be running a Ct26 60-1 with a 10degree exhaust clip Stock wastegate/manifold i will be using a Manual Boost Controller and in the future going with a EBC of some sort. i would like it shim the wastegate to around 10-12psi and i plan on running 15-18psi with the controller

Any recommendations on leaving it stock or what size washers or how many i should use or what amount of PSI i should shim it to?

Advice on this is going to be all over the map. Many of the folks out there are running wastegate springs that are 25 years old and tired... and of course, they are all slightly different, so one guy with a reasonably decent spring will run some thin washers, another guy with a really tired spring needs to run a lot more to get the same results.

If you are getting a stock turbo upgraded, have them replace the wastegate actuator at the same time, and don't worry about washers.

If i would to rebuild the stock actuator myself for one is it easily done and 2 how and where would i go about getting replacement parts ? or is it cheaper and easier to by a new one ?

Albert has my turbo at the moment rebuilding/upgrading it not sure if he does anything witht he stock actuator or not maybe he'll chime in
