Another coolant problem

Ok so i rebuilt the motor in december new head gasket pistons rods yada yada. I'm wondering if my water pump is screwed I go out let it idle for a bit doesn't overheat or anything, but the coolant boils out the top of the radiator I don't even have 5 miles on the motor what could cause this? I'm leaning towards the water pump I changed the thermostate hoses and what not, sooooo any ideas or am I headed in the right direction? Oh yeah new head gasket and head bolts were put on and torqued to 70ftlbs as recommed by so many people on here that told me to do so.

did you burp the system? and i don't think coolant should be coming out of the top of the rad... where exactly from the rad is it coming from? the cap? or the seams on the rad.. or is it coming out of the overflow tank?

Its coming out where the cap is and I bought a new cap for it, but it didn't work. Maybe my radiator is plugged on the inside but i don't know. I guess I will change the radiator this weekend and sww if that works. Another thing my oil gauge doesn't register how hard is it to put an aftermarket one on?

well to get to the sender is kind of a bitch to get to from both the top and the bottom of the car. i put one in because i didn't want to deal with trying to hunt down a new problem and if you don't mind having a guage screwed in somewhere on your dash then i suggest doing it from the top. remove the accordian hose and intake hoses. move back the power steering bracket if you are turbo. now get a flashlight and look straight down for the pressure sender its a little bigger than a golf ball size and you will have to get a good grip on it to get that screwed out hope it helps!

drop the power steering belt and and you can slide the pump down enough to get a wrench along the block. From there its 1/4 turn at a time getting the sender off.

the coolant shouldn't "boil" out of the radiator neck. Coolant will slowly rise as the temp increases but there shouldn't be anything exciting going on.

I'm going to replace the radiator cap again with one from toyota maybe its just not a good seal. But today I started it with the air cleaner offand it won't idle just suges and dies, it's never done that before but then i've never ran it without the air filter on so i'm hoping thats why lol.
